Certificate Track in Enterprise Web Application Development in Java (2012)

Students start by learning the fundamentals for building Java-based Web applications with Java Servlet Programming and JavaServer Pages (JSP) for Web Application Development. Several frameworks exist for building complex Web applications. Spring and Struts 2 are classes that explore two very common ones. In addition to the Spring Web frameworks (MVC and Web Flow), the Spring classes also teach students the basics of using Spring for dependency management, database access, cross-cutting concerns, and application security. Many aspects of Web application development depend on a working knowledge of XML, and this is provided by the Creating & Validating XML class. Students subsequently further their XML expertise by choosing an elective XML course.
